On 23 March 2018, the East African Business Council (EABC) celebrated its establishment in 1998 and 20 years of dedicated advocacy for the active role of the Private Sector in the East African Community integration process. The GIZ-EAC programme shared in the celebrations and conference with EABC and took this opportunity to highlight German support to private sector involvement in the economic, social and cultural integration of the EAC.
Time is Now. Press for Progress
Each year, on the 8th of March, the World celebrates the International Women’s Day. It is an opportunity for GIZ -EAC and its partner the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat to join the rest of the world in taking stock of women’s achievements throughout history and across nations.
The EAC-German cooperation programme implemented by GIZ and funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), currently in its 4th phase, is working closely with the EAC Secretariat and the Partner States, focusing on the Customs Union, the Common Market and the preparation of the Monetary Union.
Despite all challenges, East African integration has progressed in many areas. This Journal 2017 about the GIZ-EAC cooperation shows some of the results and benefits of this cooperation and the EAC integration process and tells many stories from our IIDEA partners about how East African citizens make practical use of the tangible benefits of integration.
