The web site of the EU-EAC Market Access Upgrade Programme was officially launched in a festive event during the EAC High Level Trade Integration Conference.
On 23 August, Prof Joyce Ndalichako, Minister of Education, Science and Technology of Tanzania, officially opened the Center of Excellence for Information and Communication Technology in East Africa (CENIT@EA).
Launch of MARKUP Project to Boost Trade and Market Access
Agribusinesses in the East African Community (EAC) countries are to benefit from greater business opportunities in both East African and European markets thanks to a new initiative funded by the European Union. The project will be implemented by the EAC supported by GIZ and ITC.
The Federal Republic of Germany and the East African Community (EAC) successfully concluded bilateral negotiations on development cooperation on 30 September 2015 in Arusha. Germany committed a total of 37 million euros in grants to the EAC for 2016-2018, highlighting the strong commitment to support the integration process in East Africa.
The 1st German Africa Business Summit held from Monday 7th – 8th September 2015 brought together over 500 German businesses and Federal Government senior officials that wish to prospect and facilitate acquisition of business opportunities in Africa.
